Since 1999, open tennis tournaments have been organized, initially combined with the Radców Summer Picnic. Until 2010, the event was held in Powsin, in 2011 it moved to the Deski Sports Center for two years, and since 2013, the tournament has been played on the Warszawianka courts.
Previously, the tournaments were one-day, single-elimination tournaments. Matches were played to the best of four games, with the final (and sometimes the semifinals) being a full set to the best of six games. Currently, the tournament is a two-day event, held on Saturday and Sunday, with matches in the following categories:
1. SINGLES:
I. Men’s under 35
II. Men’s 36-49
III. Men’s 50+
IV. Women’s Open
2. DOUBLES:
V. Men’s 70+ (combined age of both players)
VI. Mixed Open
“The Tennis Tournament is a very successful event, both from a sporting and social perspective,” says Tomasz Nawrot, Chairman of the Tournament Organizing Committee. “We are pleased with the growing level of competition and the willingness of our colleagues from other centers, including Siedlce, Katowice, Poznań, and Gorzów Wielkopolski,” he adds.
